Koreatown PDF Print Email

KOREATOWN dates back to 1904, when the first Korean arrived in the city. Having first arrived in Los Angeles during the early 1900’s, Korean immigrants did not become a dominant presence in what is now considered Koreatown until after the passage of the Immigration Act of 1965. Today, Koreatown encompasses more than two square miles just west of downtown Los Angeles and continues to have the highest concentration of Koreans in the United States and outside the Korean Peninsula.
